Responding to COVID-19
Friday,
March 13th
Over the past few days, we have been inundated with news of the COVID-19 outbreak. I want to remind you that even though our society may look different over the next several weeks, God is still in control. I also want to remind you of Paul’s words in Philippians 4:4-7: Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. With that in mind, here are some actions Living Grace has decided to take over the next couple of weeks:
1) We will NOT be holding our normal church service on Sunday mornings for the weeks of March 15th and 22nd. We want to err on the side of caution, especially with the elderly in our congregation in mind. We also want to be a part of the solution. With the advice of many others and with our governor’s directions in dealing with the outbreak (https://www.wthitv.com/content/news/In-568747501.html), our Board of Elders has decided this is the best route to go.
2) We WILL be posting Sunday's MESSAGE here on our website and our church Facebook page as well as emailing a link to those on our eNews list. We are also looking at options to live stream our service the following weekend and will keep you posted. We encourage you to take time this weekend to watch the video, get into God's Word and spend time in prayer for our country and our church.
3) If Living Grace is your home church, we encourage you to mail your tithe check to the church (PO Box 25629 Fort Wayne 46825) or now may be a good time to take advantage of online giving. You can give a one time amount or set it up as a regular tithe.
4) This is a CRAZY time, but it is also an opportunity for us to BE the church even when we can’t GO to church. Please let us know if you have any personal needs or concerns we can help with. We are also looking into ways we can assist families in our community during this time of crisis and we will let you know how you can help.
We will keep you up-to-date on ongoing decisions via email, our church website and Facebook page. Please contact Pastor Jason via email (jason@livinggrace.church) with any questions or concerns.
